Temple of the Sun

Description

The Temple of the Sun refers to the final resting place of the Holy Grail at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.  This climb, and its harder extension ("Temple of Doom"), are certainly prizes worthy of your best efforts. After a short easy slab, the angle quickly steepens and you encounter the first challenge: technical, thin, perhaps improbable moves up into a scoop below a steeper bulge.  Rest up on the unique "slot pinch" before launching into the second challenge: exiting up and left out of the scoop on reachy moves between decent holds and directly into the third challenge, a technical face where every hold is just a little worse than you want it to be.  Clip the chains and rejoice, or if you're up for the challenge, seriously consider continuing on to the stellar "Temple of Doom" extension.

Location

Just left of Canyon of the Crescent Moon (the route with the distinctive orifice at the start) on the left side of Whippersnapper.  Starts up a lower angle featured slab.

Protection

2 fixed draws, 10-12 additional bolts.
