Description

For the beginning tradster,

Boy Cooper

is an exciting but adequately protected intro to using gear in diverse features, and for moderate climbers, a nice warm up before getting on

Pi

or

Halcyon

. Start off the left end of an obvious large red rock under the branches of one of the grandest pine trees in the Storm Mountain area. Head more or less straight up to a bolt about 40 feet up, and above veer slightly left past another bolt protecting a smooth bulge.  Easy terrain ends at grey-colored anchors.

Location

About 25 feet left and uphill from the opening bolted arête of

Halcyon

(and left of

No Worries

). See photo on this page for the start.  For those with Tony Caldernone's 2017 BCC guide, the start of the route is correctly shown on Tony's photodiagram, but the rest of the route is mis-drawn; the route essentially goes straight-up from the start.  Lower from chains.

Protection

Single set of nuts and a set of cams from micro to 2”.
