Peak Mountain 3

Miyazaki

Description

[Edit]

This area was named after the cartoonist and director of incredibly illustrated movies like Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro. This area boasts rock that seem straight out of one of his wild films: a highly intriguing granite outcrop composed of massive, bulbous boulders.

The area can be divided into several distinct walls.

The north side of the Miyazaki Formation has one hard climb (so far). The west side has a large number of 30-35 foot crack climbs. The east side has the potential for some amazing overhung sport routes as well as a couple trad routes. The south side is low angle and lacks potential for climbing.

Totoro (5.6) is on the rock east of the Miyazaki Formation. Poschein Wall is behind a couple trees across a large flat granite slab to the west of the Miyazaki Formation.
