Powerful side pulls, pinches, and crimps through the second bolt lead to technical face climbing. A roof move takes you to the top. 

Interesting and committing off the ground.  Stays on you to the roof where it jumps all over you.  Sequence is everything.  Dark grey rock over roof is only slightly unpleasant to pull on.

Low angle face typical of this section of stone leads to puzzling and hard moves up to the roof and a bolt I found hard to clip.  The move past the roof is hard to figure out as there isn't a way to see over it.  Tough onsight.

Vicious crimps on steep orange rock leads to thoughtful moves on gray runnels. 

This climb holds nothing back with tricky moves and painful crimps off the deck.  Fear not, however, because the climb is done after the second bolt.

  A steep section of good holds leads to smaller, but very positive edges that reach a shallow left-facing corner. Move up and out right, to where the angle finally relents, with some giant finishing buckets. Courtesey of Scott Ayers. 

Pull some bouldery cool moves to get established and up to the first bolt (crux).  From here bring your edging and slabbing skills.  Some nicely placed jugs break up the thin moves from time to time, although sections are harder than they look.

Redneck Riviera begins with a thin technical boulder sequence on a gently overhanging wall. The difficulty of the climbing eases throughout the route but the climbing stays good until the end. Overall, a good route with powerful an engaging movement on high quality rock. 

Stick clip the high first bolt.Start on a big left-hand sidepull and quickly enter a beta-intensive crux featuring small holds and smaller feet immediately followed by another crux. Easier climbing follows with one last tricky section. A slight runout on good holds leads to anchors below the barrel cactus.

Although quite short, it makes up for its lack of height in sustained, bouldery cruxes. Strenuous, technical climbing passes 4 bolts, finally relenting for the fifth and last bolt.

 The name comes from the sign of the Mini Market in Winkelman.

Nice climb once the wall is in the shade.

Weird first bolt placement a little left and low.  I broke a hold as I reached for the 2nd bolt clipping jug.  Fortunately the Steve was paying attention so I just touched the ground.  Fun after that.

Another route where the difficulty sort of depends on where you start and whether you try to stick to the left or the right. Either way, climb face on small holds and spiny friction past five bolts to FIxe Supershut clips at the top.

Do a series of technical boulder moves to reach the small roof. Easier climbing reaches the anchors. It is very difficult to find a clipping stance for bolt #3, so have a very attentive belayer!

 Named for the fictitious annual event held in Winkelman wherein all the townspeople get together to celebrate the mining lifestyle. The highlight of this celebration is the “Night of Slagging” where all the folks just insult, slander, and otherwise abuse each other for sheer entertainment.

Powerful moves at the start w side pulls and undercling lead to a big pocket and easier grey rock

Pull a few engaging moves off the ground on sharp gray limestone to lower angle meandering on more sharp gray limestone.  Just when you think the anchors should appear you get to continue up past ledges on sharp loose gray limestone.  Beware there is a range of loose stuff from pebbles to blocks on the upper section.

Route harder or easier, depending on whether you push to stay left, or work mainly to the right, but doable either way. Work small holds and good friction up face past three bolts to Fixe Supershut clips at the top.

Ascends two small roofs. Fun and powerful start to easier grey rock.

fun route. if you stay left after the second bolt it makes it much easier try staying out of the crack left of the bolt line.

Side pull on the block to reach the jug. Here, one can either go to an undercling, or make desperate pinches to move up to a sidepull near the third bolt. The face then eases to technical climbing followed by beautiful fossil filled jug hauling.

Starts on a large enticing flake.  Climb up flake to a thin crimpy section.  Pull through the thinness to be rewarded by thirty feet of larger holds and awesome moves.

Kind of a nice route with pretty big and positive holds up the featured shallow book to the left of Short and Sweet past four bolts to Fixe Supershut clips at the top.

Stick clip first bolt.  Pull bouldery and continuous moves to brown brick feature at 3rd bolt.  Cruise upper half on excellent stone.

The first 15 feet are devious and forearm taxing.

Start up on easy ground with holds for the first few bolts.  Slowly the holds die out just as you arrive at a small roof.  Pull over on some sidepulls and body position and hit the real crux, getting to the anchors.  Once you get level with the anchors there is a nice hold to clip from.

This is a sustained and interesting route.  The holds are easy on sore fingertips even at the end of the day.

A difficult boulder problem on rather sharp, small holds and side pulls leads to thoughtful climbing on runnels in grey stone. 

Thin and sharp holds and tenuous as well.  Not the most fun to climb but challenging.

Pull into right facing dihedral follow liebacks and stemming moves to a big reach out and left of the roof to a headwall finish. Bolted by Larry.

This wall gets morning sunshine and afternoon shade so it can be climbed from fall to spring, later if you are a hard core desert rat.  It is the color of slate and has some bullet hard limestone.  The routes will be slightly less than vertical unless they are undercut at the bottom.  These can be pretty bouldery to start.  Routes range from 50 feet long to 25 feet at the right most end.  These right hand routes are new since spring 2006.
