This is a fantastic line up the obvious right-facing corner system right of

Tumbling Rainbow

(5.9). A short section of thin crack leads past a bolt (crux) and then into the shallow corner system above.

The protection is adequate, provided one has a good selection of thin gear, as well as the endurance to hang out and place it on this continuously challenging route. Not done too often, but that actually works to your advantage, as there's probably no waiting to be done on this route. Three out of five stars.

Climb the handcrack in a corner, starting 20 feet left of Fisticuffs. Where the crack ends, face climb up to a big ledge. The pitch finishes where Tales of Brave Ulysses starts.

, is this beautiful featured face. Start as for

Rainy Day Dream Away

, climbing up thin cracks past a piton to the first bolt. Trend left, then up the face past four more bolts. Athletic pulls from perfect brown patina edges provide the crux. Well bolted but still exciting, especially at the beginning. Rappel from the top with a 60 meter rope.

Nice fist jamming in a clean splitter. Would rate more stars if longer. Sunny.

Located about 50' below and 100' to the right of the start of Run For Your Life.

Starts as hands then quickly moves to cups, fists and even OW for the last few feet. The difficulties last for about 30', then hang a left and scramble up about 20' to the top of the pillar and find an anchor. Make sure the rope runs through the crack to provide directional protection for the 2nd.

Descent: scramble off to the north.

Climb the thin crack/arete start of

Rainy Day Dream Away

past it's first bolt (crux, 11b), then move left and climb the arete (5.10) past 3 bolts (right of the upper bolts on Tic Tic Boom) to a 2 bolt anchor (80 ft.)

To locate this route first go to Fisticuffs, the obvious splitter hand-to-fist crack on the right side of the Tumbling Rainbow formation.

Looking just back and left, spot a right-facing inset corner, with light-colored rock and loose appearances. There is some shedding on the route, but all-in-all it is not bad nor dangerous in my opinion.

Climb up this corner to the top and step up behind a cap-stone at the top, fitting easily through the gap (your rope will go here anyway). Go up and left on the ledge above and belay at the base of Tales Of Brave Ulysses (and then climb that route) or escape as for Fisticuffs.

A standout climb of the Real Hidden Valley area. A sporty start gives way to fairly well-protected climbing on impeccable stone. A must for those climbing at the grade.

To belay, you can simply loop some giant plates on top for an anchor and then use the rap anchors to the left atop Runaway to descend. If you wish you can walk off, although this is long and involved. One positive aspect is it takes you past the Solosby face. Four stars out of five

Steep face climbing on beautiful grey patina.

Climb past the first bolt of Run from Your Wife, then move right up to a narrow ledge. Continue up and right on steepening face to join the upper section of Runaway at its 7th bolt.

Climb the face between Run For Your Life and Tumbling Rainbow.

Follow an easy hand crack to a ledge, and continue with a right-facing flake and dihedral above.  Finger jams (crux) take you to the top.

This rotue climbs the right-most arete of the upper Rainbow formation's right summit when viewed from the valley trail.

To access this rotue climb Gift Frog (preferably) or maybe

Fisticuffs

and scramble up to a belay below this arete.

Make some balancy steep moves with poor pro (crux, height dependant) to gain nice finger cracks splitting the arete and then cruise to the top on good nut placements and easier climbing (5.6?). As the rock gets poor up top, stay left and head for the summit belay (gear).

To escape, scramble over to the left summit and rap the anchors above

Runaway

Great location, cool moves and good rock.  This quasi unique route was named after an article in the LA Weekly about how Gin was making a comeback... like it ever went away!

The crux involves a fairly giant move out of steep laybacks to gain the featured rock above.  Standard bolt clipping on perfect gold rock will lead you to the summit.  At various times there are runners and extendo clips on some of the bolts.  Probably  height dependent in spots, and certainly span dependent at the crux.

Start from the ledge located up and left from the main face. Face climb past a bolt up to a thin crack, which peters out. Continue up the face past another bolt to the top.

A prominent line on good rock.  Not quite a classic, but still worthy.  No OW technique required, and it is not runout with a #5 camalot.

A couple low angle wide crack moves (3-4") lead to the upper crack (5") which is climbed via face holds.

This is the 10 bolt route left of

Run For Your Life

(5.10b). The crux is cranking past the first 2 bolts (somewhat height dependent). After that, climb up and left on sharp edges, then steep face moves and some marginal smearing gets you to the top.  Good variety of well protected moves on this one.
