True Grip

Another power route to the right of True Grip... Good bouldery moves to the break and just enagaging enough to keep you focused all the way to the chains! Saddle Up!

Twenty feet off the road, and enticingly steep, this handsome route begs to be climbed every time you drive by.

Make some pocket moves past two huge watermelon sized cobbles to the crux which involves a bomber kneebar, and some bad slopers.

Since this route is short, and it's very difficult to clip the last bolt, an attentive belay is required to keep a falling climber from hitting the ground.

A fun beginner route on the right wall of the small canyon.

Start left of a corner formed by a large flake system. Climb up through the bottom of a shallow couloir to the first bolt, then move straight up the vertical face above.At the second bolt move right onto the face, move through the horizontal seam, then surmount slightly overhanging rock above.

Climb through four bolts of fun cobbles to gain a ledge and a killer shakeout. Six more bolts of very continuous climbing to a grand finale. Not as hard as the route to the left or the two to the right, but my favorite of the routes on this steep roof. If you're looking for a sweet 12c, this is one of the better ones just from it's continuity alone. This gets sun throughout the day since it's south facing, but a little shade late in the day.

Steep climbing on good holds. Fun! This is labeled as a 10c in the guidebook but it felt comparable to it’s neighbor which is a 10b.

One of my favorite 10a's in Maple. Hidden in the back of a small canyon at the Frontera Crag, the wall is smooth sheared off cobbles. What makes this climb so unique is the spacing of the pockets on this climb, just far enough with little in between and the pockets are all almost the same size. For me, I love the flow of this route. Slightly overhanging, you can get a pump going. Not a bad 10a for your first lead of that level. I named it Gunsmoke to keep with The Frontera theme and the feeling of your guns a smoking near the chains. Even though this climb faces south it stays in the shade throughout the early morning and back in the shade again in the late afternoon.

Good Rock with big holds.  Optional stemming at the start and up higher if ya wanna cheat a bit.

A short and easy route that starts on the same platform as Gunsmoke and Jerry's Kids.

This is a pretty cool route and its cleaning up quite nicely.   There is still some loose stuff in the beginning and here and there throughout.   Very cool thoughtful climbing with some sections that are certainly not juggy.    Cool finish too, you kinda perch on these protruding large cobbles to clip the chains.

Choss from top to bottom. The guide book claims this as 12d and one of the top 20 5.12s in maple. That's a bad joke. Harder than captain bullet. I had 5 holds blow off on me. There's a reason there is no chalk on this one.

Climb jug cobbles and matrix pockets, cross a few cobble pods, and end with a fun and tricky corner to arete combo.

Short power route on roadside overhang right of Captain Bullet... 4 bolts of fury to a easy roof pull. Freshly de-cobwebbed! Enjoy!
