These Ol' Bones

Description

This is a looong, quality face climb, one of the best of its grade in the Big T.

Climb up the blocky start to the dihedral, and clip a high bolt. Follow bolts up the face, across a water groove, and up the upper face to a two bolt anchor.

A 70m rope will possibly get you down or at least to where you can downclimb the blocky start IF you unclip all the draws. If you leave the draws clipped, it will not get you down.  A safer bet (and if you have a 60 the only option for lowering) is to lower to the But It’s Low Angle anchors and from there to the ground. You can also climb to a tree above the anchors and walk off to the right. Be sure to knot the ends of your rope when lowering or rappelling. Wear a helmet when you pull the rope or move to the left as the rope tends to dislodge debris in the dihedral.

Location

This is just left of the huge dihedral.

Protection

16 bolts.
