The Rubicon Trail

Description

Named after the famous 4x4 trail that starts at the end of Ice House Road at Loon Lake and runs overland 22 miles to Lake Tahoe.

Fun climbing through a dike and straight up the slab. The start to and above the first bolt is the crux - a spot is helpful until the first bolt is reached.  The difficulty lets up quite a bit as the rock becomes more featured and less steep.  The anchors (Mussy Hooks) are a little to the right as you near the end just above some large horizontal dikes. The anchor is shared with Slick Slice of Slab.

Location

Look for the area of large bushes at the bottom of the sport climbs with two large boulders below the bushes. This climb starts just below the lowest boulder.
