Jamming for Juliana

FA Rob Kelman and Mark Beardsley (March 1990)

UPDATED

Description

The route is a steep handcrack (50 feet) followed by a wide section. A thin crack on the right intersects the route about halfway up. Descent: hike left then right.

Location

Just after entering the Jumbo Rocks campground two prominent formations can be seen to the right (southwest). These formations run southeast to northwest. This climb is on the steep northeast-face of the second (farthest right) formation about 100 feet from the northwest end. It can be reached by coming in from either end of the canyon formed by the two formations but approaching from the southeast is easier.

Protection

Gear: #.4-#4 Camalots, large stoppers, and some small Tricams for the belay.
