The problem is certainly unique to the canyon. There is nothing else like it, at least from what I've seen, and despite the cramped quarters, it goes dab free.

Sit start deep in the cave with a right hand on the arete and a jagged series of edges with the left hand. From there, bump up the arete with the right hand, stick a blind left hand edge, continue bumping the right hand along the arete until reaching fresh air. With new found room, bring your left hand to the arete, follow it to the boulder's apex, and rock on top.

It climbs the east arete of Mac Daddy.

I used a pair of pads. Despite a few nasty rocks, this set up worked really well.
