Cause for Alarm

Description

Lieback a tricky left-facing flake, clipping a fixed pin near it's end, before breaking out onto interesting steep slab that works up and left to join

Standup Flake

, which is taken to anchors atop Slapstick. The crux is found between the first two bolts, but the lieback at the start is off-balance and no giveaway and the upper face is fairly continuous as well.

This route finishes at a huge pine tree but most now stop at the bolted anchors atop Slapstick (about 50' lower). If you climb all the way to the pine tree you can make it down easily with two single rope raps.

Location

This fun and highly overlooked route is located down and right from Slapstick, a prominent bolted arete, and immediately right of

Standup Flake

.

Protection

3 bolts, FP, gear to 3", bolted anchor/rap
