Room To Tomb

An Awkward chimney leads to a less awkward offwidth. Gain a stance on top of a dubiously connected flake. Stem across to the opposite wall and transfer to a deep vertical crack. Slammer hands and fists for the final 15 feet.

Hidden deep in a corridor guarded by large boulders on the west side of The Tomb. Skirt the formation to the right (west) and find an opening between two pillars near the southwest corner. Enter here, tunnel left, then turn right to find the chimney.

Mostly mental pro for the first 30 feet. I wouldn't trust any of it until the final hand crack, hence the R rating. The landing is bad but the climbing is secure. A tipped out #6 "protects" the chimney, small cams and TCUs can be placed under sketchy flakes on the left. A #5 fits at the back of the offwidth between the tall wall and the partially detached white flake. Once you gain the stance and transfer to the hand crack, plug as many hand sized cams as you like with confidence. Two-bolt anchor can be reached from the back through a series of fun chimney scrambles and one easy 5th class move.
