Bert and Ernie Tower

Description

Climb up and right on the flake until you get to a straight in crack. Follow this up for 20ish feet to where you can move left to another crack. Then tension traverse left onto a ledge and around the corner into a #6 crack. Follow this up to a horizontal crack that takes every thing from .3-2. Continue up the wide crack to a bolt and more wide climbing.  Finally pull into less steep terrain past some chossy blocks and eventually the summit.

We climbed this with one #5 and #6, a valley giant would have made things much faster and safer.

Also, this route will definitely go free at 5.12ish OW.  The free version will probably start to the left of our start and climb past a little pillar.

Anchor has chain, no tat needed.

Location

This tower is on the southern part of the east side of Lavender Butte.  You can access via a burly 4wd road up onto a bench or just hike from the wash. The route is between the tower and the main wall.
