Description
A slender and tall (for the bighorn dolomite) spire that is shapely from all directions; it's one of the most aesthetic of the dolomite towers I've seen. It offers a typical variable outing on suspect rock.
Start on a blocky ramp on the north (uphill) face to a bolt at 20', pull up a slab avoiding several large hollow flakes to the distinct bulge, C0 past 2 bolts out the bulge, and make the crux free moves on thin crimps to a ledge below the summit block and the anchors. Scramble carefully to the true summit and savor the views. The bulge had some hollow flakes which were trundled, but may still need some cleaning; it will probably go free in the 10+/11- range, but we were short on time to clean and free it.
Location
Below the cliff band. It's obvious once you're up there. Refer to the pictures.
Protection
4 bolts, #.75 BD, shuts.
